Since we opened in 2014 in Nottingham we've been making our very own White BBQ sauce to serve with the chicken. Serving it with Nugzilla our oversized giant chicken nugget on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch and it went down a storm had us thinking the whole world needs to know about White BBQ Sauce.
In fact, Lady Leshurr voted Nugzilla the winner of Sunday Brunch Nugget X-Factor, which was probably down to the White BBQ Sauce?
So what is White BBQ? It's originally a BBQ sauce emanating from Alabama to be used on Chicken while barbecuing as a marinade and mop and also as a condiment. It's a mayonnaise-based sauce with horseradish and cider vinegar, a touch of spice, sweetened with corn syrup.
We make our own and have swapped out some of the ingredients with our own. Next time you're in Rub and you want mayo ask for the White BBQ instead it really is amazing with our low n slow hickory smoked chicken and its one of the best barbecue dishes we offer.
Here's how to make it if you'd like to try at home :
White Barbecue Sauce
1 tablespoons ground black pepper
1 tablespoons lemon juice
4 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons honey
pinch of cayenne pepper
2 tablespoon of grated horseradish
Combine all the ingredients in a mixing jar and then shake the jar up and down until all ingredients are combined. Use as a marinade or condiment.
The sauce also plays a starring roll on our Fire Fries which are coated in garlic buffalo sauce, pulled low n slow chicken in white bbq sauce and topped with sour cream.
